    Mako (he/them)

Hi! My name is Mako, I go by he/they pronouns and I'm a trans peer worker with Neuroqueer!`

I like making art, I'm particularly enthusiastic about zines, and I also enjoy cooking, playing video games and listening to music.

I have experience in youth work and mental health support and I bring a non-judgemental and trauma informed perspective to my work.

I want to work with people to create a space where they feel safe, valued and connected.

    Jasmine (she/her)

Hey, my name is Jasmine! I'm a queer, autistic, and ADHD-identifying person who loves being part of the neurodivergent community. I have an educational background in social work and mental health, with a strong passion for meeting people where they are and supporting them in ways that matter to them.

Professionally, I’ve been working in the NDIS space for almost two years as a support coordinator and previously spent four years as a support worker, primarily supporting neurodivergent adults.

Outside of work, I love video games (especially those with rich storytelling)! I'm also a big collector of Pokémon, Sanrio, and LEGO.

    Harriet (she/they)

I’m Harriet and my pronouns are she/they. I’m a queer, neurodiverse woman with a background in Physiotherapy. I’ve got experience working with children, having worked in a paediatric physio role for the last year, but am keen to work with anyone and everyone through my role as a support worker with Neuroqueer. In my downtime, I love being outdoors and going on adventures as well as enjoying live music as much as possible.

    Wallis (they/they)

Hey, my name is Wallis (they/them), I'm a queer trans/non-binary person living on unceded Gunitjmara Lands.

    Me at "work":
Living with ADHD has sculpted me into a jack-of-all-trades kinda person; I've worked as a "checkout ch*ck", industrial cleaner on submarines, cook, painter, bartender, educator (teaching consent to kids), but now I have found what I genuinely love doing most.

Over the last decade I have met some truly remarkable people, supporting folk in the community as a mentor, support worker and facilitator.
My educational background is in Mental Health and I'm currently (ever so slowly) completing a Diploma of Counselling.

    Me at home:
In 2020 my dreams of making it to the 'big time' with my band sadly came to an end, but you can still find me writing and performing spokenword poetry and hosting poetry workshops and community events.
I started my writing venture in 2013 when battling with grief, it gave me the tools to express myself and opened me up to a community that encourages connection, explores identity and builds confidence.

Vacuuming is my favourite chore. I don't eat anything with a face, and I recently moved to a little country town in the Grampians- which is prime-time for exploring with my two dogs, growing veggies and avoiding any form of peak-hour traffic.

I'm understanding, calm, patient and often baking a sweet-treat.

I'm not much of a morning person but fighting for representation, inclusion and accessibility gets me out of bed most days!

    Hi, I'm Wendy (she/her).

I am married to my wife Carol and we have 3 boys and 1 girl between us.

Our kids are all adults so we enjoy travelling and pampering our cavoodle, Frankie.

I like kayaking, playing softball, playing 500 card games, gardening, decking out our vintage camper-van and relaxing by the pool or at the beach.

Here’s a photo of me at ArtVo in Docklands!

    Indi (she/her)

Hi, I'm Indi (she/her). As a late-diagnosed autistic person with ADHD, I understand firsthand the challenges of navigating life without proper support. My passion lies in inclusivity, advocacy, and empowering others.

At Neuroqueer, I'm a Support Coordinator and Psychosocial Recovery Coach, drawing from my background in social work and working in the diversity, equity, and inclusion space.

Outside of work, you'll find me immersed in books, Studio Ghibli films, or enjoying time with my partner and my blue-eyed border collie, Oakley. I also love anything artsy, dancing, writing, pilates, yoga, card games, and occasional hiking adventures!

  • Photo of Geordie, NDIS Support Worker and Mentor at Neuroqueer in Naarm (Melbourne, VIC)

    Geordie (he/him)

    Hello Hello!

My name is Geordie, and I’m a gay man who currently exists somewhere between an artist and community support advocate. I spent over a decade in Boorloo (Perth) making theatre; largely working with young people, and collaborating with artists with disabilities.

In 2024 I moved to Naarm (Melbourne) to start my Masters of Speech Pathology at UniMelb.

I’m convivial, enthusiastic, and a good listener. Outside of studying, I love improv comedy, indie video games, and lifting heavy things at the gym. I once took a brief trip to North Korea, and one day I’d love to have a big red groodle named Tugboat. I’m nervous before every haircut. I’m often told I’m one of a kind.

  • Photo of Mon, NDIS Support Worker and Mentor at Neuroqueer in Naarm (Melbourne, VIC)

    Mon (she/they)

Hello! My name is Mon, I am a queer and gender diverse person who loves music, films, food, nature and art. I love experiencing new places, cultures and forming genuine connections. I have a background in Youth Work running programs and outreach in schools, to DJing, sound production and events for the QT/BIPOC community. With my lived experiences, it has always influenced my work and what I love to do!

I am a respectful, honest and understanding person who values mental wellbeing, identity and affirming, low pressure approaches when it comes to supporting others to meet their goals in life. I am driven by accessibility, social engagement and being an advocate to my younger self and others with similar experiences.

  • Photo of Celesty, Social Worker, NDIS Support Worker and Mentor at Neuroqueer in Meanjin (Brisbane, QLD)

    Celesty (she/they)

Hey, I’m Celesty (she/they)! I’m a neurodivergent, queer cycle-breaker with a passion for storytelling, creativity, and social justice. As a peer at Neuroqueer, I’m committed to creating spaces where people can embrace their fullest selves.

I’ve navigated my own journey with gender identity, focusing on creating spaces where people feel heard, validated, and accepted. I’ve had the privilege of speaking about trans identity and creativity on Ben TV Channel 31, as well as delivering a poetic speech for Trans Day of Remembrance 2024.

Outside of this work, you’ll find me playing the piano, reading, and diving into deep conversations about identity, transformation, and breaking cycles. I also love exploring different cultures and embarking on creative adventures. With a background in both masters in social work and music, I’m here to walk alongside you on your unique journey, whatever that looks like.

My experiences span over 15 years within the community service sector supporting children and adults who have a disability, developmental delay and/or mental health challenges.

I work with a great team here at Neuroqueer as a Support Coordinator and Psychosocial Recovery Coach. I absolutely love my role and enjoy meaningfully supporting people to reach their goals.

  • Photo of Dion from Neuroqueer

    Dion (he/him)

    Hello, I’m Dion 👋

I’m an autistic, ADHD, queer person and I’m also an NDIS participant, so I know what it’s like to navigate the NDIS.

After my first NDIS plan was approved, I wasn’t really given any guidance on what to do or how to start using my plan. I also had a tough time finding providers that were like me and treated me like a peer. So, I built a team of queer and neurodivergent people, and created Neuroqueer for anyone else who might like some ‘neuroqueer’ folks in their corner.

This page on our website is my favourite because I can see all of the magical people that I get to run Neuroqueer with everyday to support people like us in the community.
